2008 Mt. Hood Jazz Festival - August 15 - 17
Grammy Award winning vocalist Diane Schuur, the Benny Green Trio, jazz organist Joey Defrancesco, , and the Mt. Hood Community College Alumni Band will headline the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival when it returns to Mt. Hood Community College this summer.

The Mt. Hood Jazz Festival and Mt. Hood Community College have once again joined forces to provide an exciting musical and cultural collaboration for the 2008 Mt. Hood Jazz Festival, taking place August 15 through 17. But the 2008 event will be unlike any jazz festival that has been produced before.

INDOOR & OUTDOOR, TICKETED and FREE EVENTS
Serious jazz fans will appreciate the venue of the Friday and Saturday evening concerts. Both ticketed events will take place in the elegant, air-conditioned, College Theater with state-of-the-art sound. All seats will be reserved.

Saturday and Sunday’s outdoor events will be free and family friendly. Great jazz from the courtyard stage will be complemented by 25 artist booths, a gallery show, planetarium shows, kids activities, a beer garden, great Northwest food, wine tasting, and much more. The Saturday and Sunday outdoor talent line-up will be announced soon.

TICKET SALES
Tickets for the Friday and Saturday evening indoor concerts are $30 adult/$20 student for each night with a discount for a weekend pass. Tickets now on sale online!

The festival will take place at Mt. Hood Community College, 26000 SE Stark St. Gresham, 97030. MHCC is served by Tri-Met bus lines and offers ample free parking. Click here for directions and downloadable maps.

Also new this year the Mt. Hood Community College Visual Arts Village will feature fine arts and crafts for sale as well as free hands-on projects for children. Twenty five artisans from Oregon and Washington will display their work and talk about their creations. Art for sale will include watercolor, acrylic and oil paintings, photography, pottery, garden art, sculpture, jewelry and more. Take a relaxing stroll while you listen to great music.

You might want to view a documentary, the chance to try your hand at pottery, listen to a jazz readings by Lynn Darroch, frequent contributer to the Oregonian or see a show at the MHCC Planetarium. Click here for more information on exact times.
